COVID-19 Changes

As the number of cases rise throughout Texas and the district continues to pursue reopening schools this August, the Spanish National Honor Society has adapted the way for its members to gain hours that are safe for them and the overall community. 

Online Events

For the members that have decided to do online learning for the 2020-2021 school year, previous events have been shifted to be able to be completed at the safety of their home. Furthermore, new events have been added in order to allow students to have maximum flexibility with their schedules as well as to increase the variability of events so they can have a wide selection to choose from. ALL new events are going to require a form of proof of completion from either a short video where the member explains what they did or a simple photograph with a short paragraph. An online event calendar has been added underneath the "Calendars" tab for students to be aware of everything to come.

In-person Events

Similar to the online learning events, previously done events have been altered with guidelines in order to ensure the safety of all participants. The guidelines go as followed:

Members will be required to wear face masks throughout the duration of every event with no exceptions (if necessary, face masks will be provided but members are expected to bring their own).
Sanitation stations will be located throughout the events for members to use continiously through the duration of the event.
Mandatory temperature checks will be done when members arrive to the event. If any member has a temperature higher than 100.3 fahrenheit, they will be denied entry and required to go home.

For now, the first three weeks of schools are to be online meaning previous events such as the Rattler Round Up Fundraiser are cancelled indefinitely. Consequently, for the three week period and unless otherwise allowed past that time, all events are to be purely online. Once allowed to be in-person, the guidelines mentioned above will take place and in-person events will begin.

 

In addition, we are now going to be utilizing Google Classroom to complete any events and fundraisers that are in the three week online school period and for all events for the students who have decided to continue online school for the remainder of the year. This way, the members are able to have all information available to them in one platform as well as be able to view and complete any events with ease. The code to join the classroom is gifths2
